The Relatives Crisis Center has been operating since providing a safe location for youth ages who have run away from home, are homeless, or just going through a rough family situation with nowhere else to turn. For up to 21 days, youth have a safe place to go where they and their families can work on the issues that brought them to our Youth Crisis Center. Most youth stay less than eight days because staff members work hard to put plans in place to keep families on track.
The California Youth Crisis Line CYCL operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week as the statewide emergency response system for youth ages and families in crisis. We have access to more than 5, free or low-cost resources for youth and families across California. For 28 years, we have listened to millions of youth and families in crisis from all over California about many struggles.
That means nine out of ten students have the opportunity to help that one who is struggling. Inspired by this statistic, Nine out of Ten is an ambassador program that empowers college students to be a hopeful voice for suicide prevention and promote a mental health movement on campus. Through student-led innovation and a multitude of approaches, Nine out of Ten student ambassadors engage in year-round advocacy and awareness activities to spread the message of Nine out of Ten.
